In days of Platon's war was the front correspondent of the newspaper «Red star». In the stories created by it about war ambiguity of estimations, atmosphere of a paradoxicality of life, the internal conflict of the person and the world is saved inherent Platonovu. The story «Ivanov's Family» ("Returning") has called the sharp criticism for "klevetnichestvo" to the Soviet family.
In the last years of life the writer upon whom the new wave of attacks falls, is compelled to search roundabout ways — he writes variations of Russian and Bashkir national fairy tales, works over the satirical play on a theme of the American validity (with hints to the USSR) «Noev an ark» (is not finished). However to adapt to post-war terror Platonovu it has not been given: he has soon died of a tuberculosis which has caught from the son who has been let out from camp.
